My New Edition To The Family 

Today I went to a pet shop and I found a really big bird and after begging my mum she said ok then FINE. He is a Border Canary and I have named it Charlie and he is a boy. He is a very good whistler and he has a song that he sings that is made up of whistling.

 

My advice to anyone that buys a bird .When you get it to your house and then put it into its new cage it might not chirp or sing if it does because it would be scared of the new environment that its in so don't be worried

 

 



 

My dog

 

I have had my dog for 4 years his name is buddy and he was 3 in July 2013. He is a very playful dog. He is playful because he is a Jack Russell. Buddy loves walks and he get very hyper sometimes and he loves people but not as much as other dogs. When my dog was little he was very cute. He was only a puppy when we got him and he had a  spot on his tale/back. So we was going to call he spot but for some reason we called him buddy

My Guinea Pig

 

My guinea pig is called Toffee I have had him for about 3 years.

Unexpectedly he is best friends with my cat. when I get him out his very large hutch my cat and him cuddle up together.

 

Some times when I get him out I have to keep my eye on him because he likes exploring the garden and he likes to jump in the flower beds.

 

In the summer I always like to get him out his hutch and get him to curl up on my lap for cuddles. And when I get him out I give him his favourite treat some carrots

 

 



Our new birds

 

We have some new birds. We bought two Albino's (pure white birds with red eyes) and a light grey one. One of our Albino's is a female and the other one and the grey one is a baby so we don't know what they are yet.

 

We had to name them of course one of our Albino's is called Thor (Female).The grey one I am calling Misty or sooty. And the other Albino we haven't got a name for yet.

Rabbit

 

On the 19th of May me and my mum went to the pet shop to look at some budgies but we saw a very cute bunny we asked if it got along with guinea pigs and they said yes. I wanted to know if I could handle it so I sat on a bag of straw and it sat on my lap so we decided to get it.

Babies

 

 

We have bred our budgies and have got 15 budgies for this year and we have sold 11 and have kept 4 for our collection. And one of our babies from our first ever season has had a baby budgie herself and is on her second lot.

We Have Babies !!

 

We have 5 babies 3 in one box one in another and one in our new cages. I have handled the babies and have also cleaned out the nest box and have clean their feet. I have some pictures of the babies for you to see !!

My Breeding Pairs

Today we have put up our breeding boxes because we are shortly breeding our birds to get new babies. We have paired up these 2 new breeding pairs.

Mitzi

 

I got my second pet when I was 3. She is a Tortoiseshell she is 60 in human years and she is called Mitzi. I named her Mitzi because I used to watch little bear and my favourite character was Mitzi the Monkey. Because I handled her a lot she is quite tame so if both of us are outside she will follow me around where ever i go. Mitzi loves humans but she isn't so keen with my dog Buddy they do bark and meow at each other but its natural.

Harry The Canary

When I was 2 I got my first pet canary I called him Harry because I thought she was a boy. After I had her a while she was ripping up paper at the bottom of her cage. Soon she laid 2 eggs and we realised she was a girl. But I didn't change her name because she was used to it.Canary's live for 5-8 years but I was lucky because she lived for 10 years.

Tp (Tweetie Pie)

My budgie is called Tp he is 4-5 months old and he was the last one out of the nest in my aviary. He didn't really like humans and he squawked a lot. I started to handle him when he was kicked out of the nest by his mum. Soon he was falling asleep on me and sitting on my shoulder. Tp sleeps in his cage and come out for most of the day so we have to make sure we keep the windows closed.

 

My mum started whistling at him every morning shortly after he started copying her. We wanted to get him to start talking and we realised that his mirror stopped him to talk as he thought it was another bird. As soon as I removed the mirror he started making sounds but we didn't know what he was saying. After a while he started saying "Wheres Sophie" and "Hello"over and over again. We are trying to teach him more words but it does take time.
